Outpatient eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty)
Eyelid surgery is most often used to eliminate the age-related loosening and wrinkling of the skin of the eyelids, the sagging of the upper eyelids, and the bags on the eyelids. Blepharoplasty consists of the excision of the relative excess of skin from the eyelids, which makes the remaining skin tighter. If necessary, we also remove the so-called bags resulting from the buldge of the orbital adipose tissue.
Eyelid surgery does not eliminate dark circles under the eyes, crow’s feet, and sagging eyebrows.
Who is the surgery recommended for?
The surgery is recommended for those who want a younger, more lively look.
Preparation for the surgery
During the consultation with our plastic surgeon, the realistic surgical goal will be discussed, and the necessary laboratory tests will be prescribed. A diagnostic photo will be taken with the Visia device.
The surgery
Blepharoplasty is performed under local anaesthesia by injection. The surgery requires some cooperation from the patient (e.g. opening and closing the eyes, looking up). During the surgery, incisions are made in the skin of the eyelids, which are joined by a series of sutures running under the skin and then covered with thin strips of adhesive at the end of the surgery. Vision is slightly disturbed by this bandage. The operation takes 90 minutes.
Ability to work, home care
After surgery, the eyelids may swell, causing a tight feeling. The skin discoloration will disappear in 7-10 days. After the procedure, you can leave our clinic with an escort. Driving is prohibited until the stitches are removed!
Until the stitches are removed (7-10 days), we recommend a gentle lifestyle and wearing sunglasses.
The price applies to both eyes.
