Preparation for the treatment
Before the first treatment, we determine your suitability for treatment at the consultation, and take a diagnostic photo with the Visia device. Antiviral medication (oral) is mandatory for 1 week. Sun protection and avoidance of direct sunlight is recommended for 14 days prior to treatment.
The treatment
An anaesthetic cream is applied to the area to be treated for 30 minutes. During CoolPeel, the SmartXide Punto CO2 laser scans the surface of the skin and vaporises the uppermost cell rows of the epidermis, clearing away the aged skin layer that is the most exposed to environmental influences and thus has an uneven pigment content, giving way to younger cells. The renewed skin will look more even.
During the treatment, precisely defined energy is released, which is delivered to the skin with very short pulses, thus removing the dead upper layer of the skin and stimulating the production of new collagen.
CoolPeel laser peeling is one of the latest developments from DEKA, Europe’s largest laser manufacturer, and is a non-injurious laser peeling. During a CoolPeel treatment, the SmartXide Punto CO2 laser delivers high-energy, controlled, short laser pulses to the target area. Treatment parameters can be adjusted according to skin type. Balanced energy input prevents deeper skin damage without causing thermal damage, which would result in longer healing time due to tissue necrosis. The name of the procedure (CoolPeel rejuvenation) refers to the fact that the treatment is much cooler without the excessive heat input.
Ability to work, home care
After the treatment, you may experience redness and mild oedema around the eyes and mouth, which will disappear in 2-3 days. Avoiding the sun and using sunscreen thoroughly is recommended for 14 days.
During the treatment, slight skin surface damage is caused by the vaporisation of the top layers of the skin, leaving it drier and possibly rough to the touch for a few days. This is usually not noticeable and is therefore considered a treatment without a healing period. Aftercare should include the use of a sunscreen cream and the application of nourishing creams to combat temporary dryness. The use of cosmetic products to promote collagen formation and the consumption of collagen and hyaluronic acid supplements are also recommended.
